Have you ever met someone at a church or really anywhere that believed that they were better than a lot of people just because of the position that they held? They could have been the singer and speaker or any sort of position. Since they were in the spotlight, they then thought that they were better than others that weren’t.
This is the furthest thing from the truth since we all need each other in life and especially in a church setting.
“If the foot should say, “Because I’m not a hand, I don’t belong to the body,” in spite of this it still belongs to the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I’m not an eye, I don’t belong to the body,” in spite of this it still belongs to the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But now God has placed each one of the parts in one body just as He wanted. And if they were all the same part, where would the body be? Now there are many parts, yet one body. So the eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” Or again, the head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” But even more, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are necessary. And those parts of the body that we think to be less honorable, we clothe these with greater honor, and our unpresentable parts have a better presentation. But our presentable parts have no need of clothing. Instead, God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the less honorable, so that there would be no division in the body, but that the members would have the same concern for each other. So if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. “
1 Corinthians 12:15-26
Hcsb Bible.

It doesn’t matter how talented or smart that you are, if you don’t have others that are willing to work with and to use their gifts then you will suffer. You will never get to the best that you can get.
An example is in every church or organization, there always needs to be the leader(pastor),department managers(ministry leaders such as youth pastor or children’s church director and etc…), and then there needs to be the workers as well( volunteers with a heart for God). If you don’t have one then everything either falls apart or starts looking like it’s missing a wheel on the vehicle.
If we don’t have the leader then the church doesn’t have any direction. If we don’t have the department managers, we won’t have stability and be able to reach different groups. And the most honorable are the volunteers. If we don’t have volunteers that help with their talents. It could be in singing, could be patience to drive the bus or the compassion, or technical knowledge to do the sound. If we don’t have those volunteers then the church will still look like a church but it won’t reach as far, it will be a skeleton of what it’s meant to be. The volunteers make up the meat and substance of the church.
It doesn’t matter what gift God has given you, we all need each other to lift each other up and reach the World for God. You could be great at housekeeping, record keeping, technology stuff, a servants heart that isn’t in everyone. Whatever your gift is, use it. Your church needs you.
Not just for numbers but for your gifts to be used and to bring those that are lost to see you using your gift. You could be the difference between someone coming to church and staying or leaving and never hearing the word of God again.
So at the end of the day, use your gift, be humble with your gift and rely on each other. Because we all need each other for the Gospel to reach the world.
Good post on how we all need each other.
