Look for the escape.

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity. God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation He will also provide a way of escape so that you are able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13

Hcsb Bible

So many people go through life making mistakes after mistake for multiple reasons. It could be because they didn’t see a different way out, or they genuinely thought it was a good idea at the time.

In our spiritual walk, we need to not fall trap to the same traps that got our predecessors or our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Now will we sin? yes, but we should try our best not to.

A lot of people, especially when they’re in their teens, they think that no one will understand them and their situation because no one has experienced what they have. This verse and all the wisdom in the world says otherwise.

Yes, the nuances and specifics may change, but the general situation stays the same. We all get tempted with the same sins that our great grandparents were tempted with. And so your family and church family should be able to help you in your battle against sin.

Also, it says in the verse that no matter what the sin, God will provide a way out for you. It may come in the example of a friend calling you to hangout to get you away from that computer or you could read the Bible and pray to God instead of doing whatever you are being tempted to do.

Now, the escape could be any sort of things, but the Lord does provide you one. So be looking for the escape and don’t give up too easy like I and so many other people have done, for each sin we commit, it’s our responsibility and no one else’s.

An example is that of Joseph in the Old Testament, he could have easily said it was his masters wife and he didn’t have a say. But he didn’t and he then ran away from sin at the drop of a hat and his robe. Will avoiding sin always be beneficial in the moment? No. But it will keep our relationship with the Lord in tact and others are watching how you carry yourself. You could pull someone towards or away from God with your actions in times of temptation.

Be vigilant and look for the escape for when you are tempted by whatever sin that tempted you and run away. It may not come immediately but when you can, run metaphorically or physically if you need to. I hope you have a great day and if you have any questions, disagreements, message me or comment here and I’ll respond when I can.

Just an average guy that loves Jesus, football and wanting to learn more about God everyday. I post my devotions and lessons on here to gather my thoughts together. So if I make a mistake, tell me and if you know places where I can learn more, tell me that too. I hope y’all have a great day.
