How to be a Biblical man? Be humble to God

So we all know someone that thinks to be a man, the person has to be able to do whatever he wants and isn’t submissive to anyone else. They think that if a man submits to a higher power no matter what it is, they think they are less of a man. The Bible says otherwise.

“As for me, I am going the way of all of the earth. Be strong and be courageous like a man, and keep your obligation to the Lord your God to walk in His ways and to keep His statutes, commands, ordinances, and decrees. This is written in the law of Moses, so that you will have success in everything you do and wherever you turn,”

1 Kings 2:2-3

In order to be a true man of God, we can’t have pride blocking our views on how to live. If we do this, we will make terrible mistake after mistake Because we will think we know everything. We need to obey Gods commands and decrees.

So what this means in our everyday lives is that we need to be ready for correction from more the Bible and our friends and other Christians if we are in the wrong. If we are humble, we won’t react out of anger if we are corrected by those above us but rather take it into consideration and examine the criticism with what the Bible says.

What this also means is that we will need to be disciplined. We can’t be someone that’s easily swayed to do irrational things or is easily seduced by sin. The reason is that if we are to obey God and his commands, we will first have to know what the commands are and wear them around our neck as reminders so we don’t sin against him and others.

If we are new to the faith, we may not have any idea of what sin is and so therefore, you would need to make sure you read the Bible and hide it’s words in your heart and memorize them as said in Psalms 119:11. This is a tall task to ask of some people since when we look around us, we are hard pressed to find anyone that reads the Bible on a regular basis much less daily.

The thing is though, God calls us to be men that stand out amongst our peers and others that are older and to love him with our heart,soul, mind and strength.

This is where the courage from before comes in. In order to follow Gods commands, we will stick out and that may cause others anxiety but we need to have reassurance in God and ourselves to follow him in everything.
