In this world of chaos and confusion, we constantly want to know something for certain. While some people believe we should stay in lockdown, others say we are overreacting to the virus. So what’s the clear cut answer on what to do? Though we will not be going over that answer, we will be going over the reactions of some that do get approached with with truth or exposed if you will.
18 “If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own. However, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of it, the world hates you. 20 Remember the word I spoke to you: ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will also keep yours. 21 But they will do all these things to you on account of My name, because they don’t know the One who sent Me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin. Now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 The one who hates Me also hates My Father. 24 If I had not done the works among them that no one else has done, they would not have sin. Now they have seen and hated both Me and My Father. 25 But this happened so that the statement written in their scripture might be fulfilled: They hated Me for no reason.”
John 15:18-25

Some people hate being told they are wrong or they made a mistake. Some people love knowing the truth so that they can change and get better. Well since we never really focus on those that take the truth and change since they usually don’t give us any problems since we are in that group or they generally don’t get angry, we will focus on those that hate us.
For some people, they can go through some terrible things in life, some of it by their own hand( bad behavior, bad decisions etc…), while some of it isn’t. So before you ask yourself why people hate me, make sure it’s not because of your attitude first before you assume you are doing Gods will on earth.
So for those that do hate you for preaching the truth in love and humble nature, why do they hate the truth. Well the reason being, they have been exposed for what they truly are. Which is wretched sinners with no chance to heaven by themselves. While some people jump at the chance and change, some people have too much pride and can’t see themselves as anything but perfect or at the very least a “good person”.
So when confronted with this truth of their wrongs, they may lash out in anger since they now know they have to either change or reject it. They wanted to live in ignorant bliss(as much As you can even though the law and your conscience convict you) from their sin and didn’t want to confront.
This is similar to when you know something is wrong with your car, you don’t know what it is but you know something is wrong. Then all of sudden, the check engine light comes on and you have to make a decision to either get it fixed right away which may cost a good amount of money, or delay your response or ignore it all together. Either way, you now know what’s wrong and it’s going to annoy you until you do something about it.
The same is true for those exposed to the truth of their condition, they know something is wrong in the world of chaos, disease, death, war and rape, but they don’t know what is wrong yet. Then their exposed to the truth of sin being the cause(the check engine light). They can act quickly and do something about and accept Christ as their Lord and Savior and change their life accordingly(pay for the car to be fixed). They can also delay their action or ignore and risk the consequences of hell( or the car breaking down and it being a lot more expensive to repair or buy a new car).
Either way, they will have to sacrifice something. They either sacrifice their pride now for eternal life in heaven, or their eternal life in hell for prideful ignorance in this small amount of time on earth. It can be hard to go to the shop and paying for the $20 part to fix your car(sacrifice your pride), when you may only have $25 in your bank account. In any case, it’s better to do that than to pay the $3,000 dollar bill(eternal life in hell) to repair your car when you only have $100.
So though it may be tough to take your pride and accept Jesus, I beg you to do so. Don’t act in anger because you were exposed to the truth or your condition. I was too and I want you to come to heaven with me. See your sin, accept Jesus as your only way to heaven and come with me to heaven when we die. I hope to see you there.
