Be ready

So today my devotional was over Ephesians 6. Have we ever seen or heard something that we weren’t sure if it was right or not? It could have been on tv, social media or whoever you hangout with. Well we need to always be ready and know what we believe and the difference between true and false doctrine.

“Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by His vast strength. Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the Devil. For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand”. Ephesians 6:10-13

Hcsb Bible.

Now the world will constantly be shooting you with false ideas and doctrine that will make you question what you believe. They will commonly use very emotionally charged arguments and if you don’t step in line with them on every single point, then they consider you heartless or a bigot or whatever word they want to call you.

Just like the verses above talk about, we are in a war, not against specifically our fellow brethren on earth but rather the evil and the false thoughts and beliefs that come with it. Because of this, we need to be ready like a great soldier that’s ready for chaos and sabotage and misinformation that the enemy will send us.

The enemy will send out false information similar to a General does with his spy network. A few false messages and doctrines are that babies in the womb aren’t alive but rather just a clump of cells and is the mother’s body, or that homosexual marriage is the exact same as normal marriage.

Now the problem with this is that according to the Bible, but also science, statistics and just common knowledge of observation, those messages are wrong. In the Bible, we see that God knew us and even made us from the very beginning and he has a plan for us.(Psalms 139, Jeremiah 1:5).

In the womb, we now know that the baby feels pain, that they have their own different set of dna from the very beginning. The only difference between a baby in the womb and an elderly person depending on someone to live a normal life is age, and that the elderly person is outside the womb. That’s the only difference and we would consider it complete murder if we killed the elderly person. So why don’t we consider the same with a baby in the womb?

Homosexual marriage is also different than normal heterosexual marriage. In homosexual marriage, people are more likely to get an STD at a much higher rate. Also, growing up, the kids of these unions suffer and don’t live a good of a life as children in heterosexual marriages. They are more likely to either go to prison, get pregnant earlier than they want to, even some start getting confused on which gender they are because they don’t have both genders in the house to help understand what is going on in their life.

Now this is not me bashing on these people, but rather just stating facts along with what the Bible says on these two matters which the world is constantly throwing at us. I pray and hope that I can help each and every one of the people that are affected but these two groups. I also hope that come to God and that I’ll see them in heaven some day.

Along with a long list of other wrong messages, we need to be ready to combat what the world says. What we do is we read and know what the Bible says on the issues and strive to understand it to our best capacity. Even satan himself approached Jesus and tried to tell him lies and misinformation. Then Jesus, because he understands the Bible fully, was able to combat with Satan and win because he knew the Bible through and through.

So at the end of the day, be ready, be on guard and vigilant of the false information that is out there. Always have a defense of the faith that you have.( 1 Peter 3:15). I hope you have a great day and if you have any questions or disagreements, just comment below or message me and I’ll respond when I can.

Just an average guy that loves Jesus, football and wanting to learn more about God everyday. I post my devotions and lessons on here to gather my thoughts together. So if I make a mistake, tell me and if you know places where I can learn more, tell me that too. I hope y’all have a great day.
