Throughout our life, there are multiple things that can worry us. From what our future will be in relationships, financially, and the afterlife all the way down to if we will do great on a test or be liked by others. Everyone has worried about something at some point in their life. Some even make their entire life choices based on their worries and fears. So what does Jesus say about the matter?
“Your heart must not be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if not, I would have told you. I am going away to prepare a place for you. 3 If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also. 4 You know the way to where I am going.” “Lord,” Thomas said, “we don’t know where You’re going. How can we know the way?” Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
John 14:1-6

Jesus tells us to not worry here and even tells us at another place that it won’t add one cubit to our height( Matthew 6:7). So why shouldn’t we worry since we ourselves are not all powerful and don’t know everything? The reason is that we know enough from Jesus and his word to give us peace and security.
One of the most pressing matters that gives people fits with worry is what to believe, who to believe and what happens after we die? These questions have been asked by every single person to ever walk the earth from Adam and Eve to us today. From the great men of the past and founders of nations, Kings, to Great War generals to the leaders and normal joe in the world today. People have stayed awake at night for weeks thinking on these matters, especially those that are confronted with their own mortality.
So who should we believe? The answer is obvious and that is Jesus. People can scoff at that notion but there is more evidence in almost every arena of study than any other belief system to the correct authority of the word of God. So we don’t have to worry about having to look at all the religions in the world and be confused but rather focus on Jesus and his righteousness.
Also after we focus on Jesus, he gives us the answer of what happens after we die. If we die and haven’t accepted Jesus, then we go to hell separated from God for eternity unfortunately. If we accept Jesus then we will go to heaven where God is making a mansion for us.
Of course there are many more things to worry about but we are to depend on Jesus and if our eternity is secure then the worst thing that can happen is for us to be sent to Paradise. So be confident, be calm and have peace in your life as you walk with God and depend on him.
