Hey everyone, I hope and pray all of you are having a great day. So let’s ask ourselves the big question, are we righteous? Well to be honest, we can all say that we are good people compared to other people. We can say that we try to do good things, but let’s get down to the actual answer.

“For in it God’s righteousness is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith.”
Romans 1:17
Hcsb Bible
Are we actually righteous? Are we always morally correct and right in everything we do? Obviously we aren’t since even by our own admission, we can’t say that we are always right since we sometimes have to apologize to others. Unless you are overly egotistical and a psychopath, then you may not think that you’ve ever done wrong, and if that’s the case, I pray that you are humbled and ask for forgiveness.
The Bible also agrees with us in that it says that not even one person on earth is righteous( Romans 3:10). So how do you become righteous then? Well the verse says it pretty plainly that you need faith to be righteous.
But faith in what exactly? Is it in our country? Nope because our country is ruled by sinners. Ok what about our logic, surely we can have faith in our logic right? Wrong again unfortunately, since even our logic can fail us miserably.
What about science, can we have faith in that? That too can fail us on occasion as well since science changes all the time with new discoveries that change what we believed about the universe before. Even with everything that’s going on with coronavirus, our faith in science is on display, or at least our faith in our government leaders is on display as we wear masks everywhere, shut down businesses, and even don’t go to church.
There has been contradictory statements about how effective all of these measures that we have taken. It just goes to show you that, despite our best wishes and tries it fails. Since we as humans are involved, it is doomed to fail us despite our best and most gallant efforts. So if everything that humans are involved with fails us, then what can we choose to have faith in to be righteous?
What does the Bible say? Well the Bible says that Abraham believed in the LORD and he accounted him as righteous because of his faith in the LORD. That’s the way that we can have righteousness. Not by doing more good than bad or even having faith in authority that is above us. But rather having faith in the ultimate authority.
The LORD will never fail you though you may fail him and fall out of favor with him. The LORD is perfect and always loving despite our best arguments against him. He is just and has complete righteousness whereas we only are given it by our faith in him. We haven’t earned our righteousness, but rather we accept it as we have faith in God.
So how do we live by faith if we are to be righteous? Well the cliche answer, is to do everything you do, in honor and obedience to GOD. Have faith in GOD in the midst of your struggles. Have faith in GOD when making a big decision and pray and ask for his guidance in everything you do. That’s just a few ways to live by faith. Have faith that despite what is going on in your world, that God is in control.

May we trust in Christ for our righteousness!

Oh yes. We have no chance of having it by ourselves.
