Don’t be ashamed!

Who here is politically correct? Who truly is, if we are being honest? We may say politically correct things, but the minute we go the politically incorrect route, we are looked down upon, or humiliated, or even lose our jobs because of it.

The things that we say today are being used against us in the future when it becomes politically incorrect for whatever reason. There are multiple examples of this happening, from people talking about sex is male and female and not in between, or the thought that marriage should only between a man and a woman. People have lost their jobs and their homes because of the things they posted on the internet YEARS ago.

The one that threw me for a loop the most was when recently the syrup company changed the name of ‘Aunt Jemima’ because it was a black woman that was portrayed on the syrup. Now the great grandson of the person that was portrayed on the syrup is upset because the company is trying to be politically correct and appease the mob that hates reality.

I mean seriously, no one uses the syrup and thinks “I’m so glad that this company has a black woman from the slavery period”. It was virtue signaling at its best.

Of course I’m against the slavery of any kind and all for equality. But we need to talk about something real quick.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God’s power for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek.”

Romans 1:16

Hcsb Bible

We need to talk about reality. Reality is gross and nasty sometimes. Reality is not politically correct whatsoever. It brings up the sins of everyone because that is what we all do. And the Gospel is reality.

The Gospel is the point that we all have screwed up terribly and sinned and have no chance to get to heaven by ourselves. We can’t even get to heaven if we do more good than bad, or even if we all teamed up and use the power of ‘teamwork’. We can only get to heaven if we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and repent of our sins.

That’s not politically correct because that would mean that all the other religions in the world are false and dead wrong. Not just temporarily dead wrong but wrong for all eternity. That will get you fired from some jobs, killed in some places or at least mocked.

Also in this same verse, it brings up that the gospel is for the Jew first and the Greek(gentile or us) second. Of course this is politically incorrect because it brings up race, it also brings up different classes. The reason being, at the time, Jews were second class citizens at best in the Roman Empire. This was like telling the elite of today that are stuck up that the gospel is for the poor crack addicts on the street first and then them. This is shown in the way that Romans treated the Jews and how the gospel got brought to the Jews first by Jesus and then his disciples before they took it to us the gentiles.

But honestly, who cares? The gospel is for everyone regardless of race, class or intelligence level(Romans 1:14). I’m a white dude with probably not a drop of Jewish blood in me and I have no problems with the Jews having first dibs on the gospel since they are Gods chosen people from the very beginning. Who am I to be upset over Gods choices? I’m nothing.

I say all this to say this. When you know and preach the gospel, you will be mocked, ridiculed, lose your job and maybe even killed and the reason is that is politically incorrect. It calls us out for what we have done wrong and no one likes to be called out. The Gospel divides the world between Saved and unsaved and not dividing us on race, class, intelligence level, etc….

But don’t be ashamed because it is the power of the Gospel that allows us to be saved. It’s the power of the Gospel that allows us to pulled out of the clutches of hell and the prison of our sin. It’s that same power that gives us peace instead of chaos, clarity over confusion, strength instead of weakness.

So don’t be ashamed, keep living out the Gospel, keep preaching even if it’s not your job title. Because at the end of the day, even though its not politically correct, it’s the only way we can be saved, the only way we can keep going forward after death into a happy eternity.

I hope y’all are having a great day and if anyone has any questions or disagreements, just comment below or message me and I’ll respond when I can.

Just an average guy that loves Jesus, football and wanting to learn more about God everyday. I post my devotions and lessons on here to gather my thoughts together. So if I make a mistake, tell me and if you know places where I can learn more, tell me that too. I hope y’all have a great day.
