What do you value?

A lot of people are going through hard times at this moment. Many have lost their jobs, houses and purpose in life for one reason or another. They’ve lost family members too. During these troubling times, one finds out what you worship.

“Claiming to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles.”

Romans 1:22-23

Hcsb Bible

So many will become misguided and reject the truth of Jesus Christ and start worshipping things. They won’t worship the creator, but the created. During times of trouble, what gets you mad, what gets you upset and sad? Many times when someone gets mad about something, it’s about something that they hold dear and close to their heart.

For some it is money, family, integrity, etc… I’ll give a small example in my life that isn’t huge. Earlier today, I was on my way to work and the garage door wouldn’t close for one reason or another and j started getting frustrated. I value punctuality and security and that’s why I got frustrated that my door wouldn’t close and I was getting late for work. It closed and I got to work so I’m good. But that’s just one instance of something that gets people upset.

Unfortunately in this world, people value things that go away. When you lose your stuff, you get upset, when you value family above all else then you will get upset again. Of course family is important but it’s not the most important thing and it eventually disappoints you.

So at the end of the day, value and worship and give glory to God that will never disappoint you. Paul saw this coming because it is human nature to not give glory to God because of our sin. But try to follow God, read your Bible and keep God in the center.

Just an average guy that loves Jesus, football and wanting to learn more about God everyday. I post my devotions and lessons on here to gather my thoughts together. So if I make a mistake, tell me and if you know places where I can learn more, tell me that too. I hope y’all have a great day.
