Hey everyone, I hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready for the new week to start. The past couple of days we have went over the righteousness of God vs the unrighteousness of mankind. But a very important question has to be asked. How do we know that we are unrighteous as people and that God is righteous?
Sure we can try to debate logically over what behavior is good or bad but by which standard would we debate from? Would it be from the majority of the society? Definitely not because the terrible act of southern slavery was very common at one point along with the murder of babies in abortion is common today. Both are terrible, but most of, if not a huge chunk of the population was for those evils at one time or another.
We could debate all day long about how to determine right from wrong, but it would really boil down to your opinion vs my opinion.

“Now we know that whatever the law says speaks to those who are subject to the law, so that every mouth may be shut and the whole world may become subject to God’s judgment. For no one will be justified in His sight by the works of the law, because the knowledge of sin comes through the law.”
Romans 3:19-20
Hcsb Bible
The law of God is the way that we know who is righteous and who isn’t. The reason is that it is too hard to fulfill the entire law without breaking it at one point or another. This means that we sinned or messed up and aren’t righteous. This brings us to the knowledge that we are in the wrong.
Now some will say that the Bible is just a list of Dos and Donts. That’s not the case but rather a guideline by how to live in peace and close relationship with the one who created you. It’s the same way that your parent tells you not to touch the oven while it’s hot. They tell you out of love, not out of controlling you like a robot.
The purpose of the law of God is to show our wrongs and bring us to himself. Of course some people will hear that they’re wrong and rebel even further, but that’s not Gods fault for their choice. God gives them the choice after knowing their wrong.
So if you are ever reading the Bible and you feel convicted of something, that’s fine. That’s what is supposed to happen. You should feel convicted and repent of your sins. We’ve all been there.
I hope you have a great day and if anyone has a question, just comment below.
Convicted by God is a good thing! That meas our conscience is still there and also everyone shoud be thankful for the Spirit convicting us!
