What is something we can unite under?

There are so many different divisive groups today. Black lives matter, all lives matter, blue lives matter, wear a mask or don’t wear a mask, atheist or Christian, Republican or Democrat. So with there being so much division in the world today, what is one thing that we all hold in common, other than biologically all being humans. Like seriously, what is one thing that holds us together that is of our own choice?

Is it the shows that we watch? Nope, plenty of people hate certain shows. Is it ideology? Definitely not as seen above with the different groups. Is it freedom? This definitely isn’t it because some people in the world are under terrible regimes that destroy their freedom and kill them if they do anything outside of the governments line of thinking. So what exactly is it?

“But now, apart from the law, God’s righteousness has been revealed —attested by the Law and the Prophets —that is, God’s righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ, to all who believe, since there is no distinction. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Romans 3:21-23

I hate to say it but it’s true. The only thing that has us all together under the same umbrella is that we are all screwed up sinners. We make mistake after mistake every day and that’s what makes us all the same. But what is something that we can choose to be under together that is good?

Though we are all connected together by our shared stupid sin, we also have the same chance to be connected by the choice of believing in Jesus Christ where there is no distinction. No difference between us whatsoever when it comes to the saving power of Jesus Christ.

It doesn’t matter if you are a slave in some terrible country, or the richest person in another country. It doesn’t matter if you are woman or man, or black or white, strong or weak, or even what country you come from. You can still choose to come to heaven despite the terrible circumstances that you are in.

So how do you do this? Well the prophets of the past and the Bible of the present say a few things about this. One you have to admit your sin(mistakes,wrong doings), have faith in Jesus Christ and accept him as your Lord and Savior.

So what exactly separates us as a people? On the surface, a whole lot. But deep down and sometimes blatantly on the surface, our terrible sin is what we share but we can choose to have the LORD of the universe as our father and that will be something good that we can all share together that unites us.

The Christian in South Africa has a connection with the new believer in Christ in California. The same as the pastor in China or England or Brazil. We all something in common that we can talk about and enjoy with each other. That is the love and righteousness of God.

So become part of the family and have something in common and put the distinctions behind you. Accept that you are a sinner, repent(admit that what you did was wrong)of your sin,have faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and become part of the family.
