There are millions of people in the world. Most of them unfortunately will not see heaven after death. A good majority of the worlds population believe in some kind of religion. It could be Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity, or any other religion you can think of or search online about. The problem is that most of them will not get to heaven. Why is that?
Well some people will believe that as long as they are genuine in their faith, that they will be let into heaven. Unfortunately this is not the case in the slightest.
“Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God concerning them is for their salvation! I can testify about them that they have zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. Because they disregarded the righteousness from God and attempted to establish their own righteousness, they have not submitted themselves to God’s righteousness.”

When it comes to getting to heaven, even though you may be genuine and truly believe your way is the right way, it can be wrong since Jesus says so in John 14:6. Paul even gives an example that hits home for him and the readers of this letter originally. Paul is a Jewish man he knew plenty of Jews and knew the genuineness of their faith (because he was the same once where he changed on the road to Damascus). He has plenty of friends that would not be going to heaven and so he doesn’t say this lightly like some Christians do even though they only know one unbeliever and their not even related to them or friends with.
The church in Rome had a good amount of Jews in it as well. This would mean that some of their friends and family were being addressed here as well.
This hits even harder when you take into account that Jews were Gods chosen people in the Old Testament(they didn’t have the New Testament yet) and they still are for future prophecy. Jesus was even a Jew. If any group of people ‘deserved’ to get to heaven because of their genuineness, it was and is the Jews.
But the Bible and Paul doesn’t say that. So if the Jews can’t get to heaven by their genuineness and zeal for their belief, what makes you think that anyone else can get to heaven that way? Yes even if they dedicate their entire life to some belief other than Jesus Christ, they have wasted their life. That makes it even more heartbreaking.
So what do we do with this information then? Well first, we fight and deny the lie that universalists believe. They say ‘all roads lead to heaven, or multiple ways can lead you to heaven’. The reason because they aren’t putting their faith in the one who matters.
We also take this and run with it to anyone who will listen for we don’t know if they have heard the message of Jesus Christ yet. Share the true gospel with anyone you come across.
